Central Bristol – Lift Replacements

Working for a client in central Bristol and liaising with a multi regional construction company, Elserv have carried out complete replacements of the duplex lifts and the staff lift in the museum.

As can be seen in the pictures, our client wanted a bespoke solution for the lift car; the provocative scientific question in each lift car is written backwards on the back painted glass, and legible in the car mirrors! Furthermore, upgraded 7-inch TFT colour displays are utilised in the operating panels, these displays are programmable, allowing our client to personalise messages and images within the lift cars. The duplex lift installation design included an increase in lift car size, maximising the capacity within the existing lift shaft arrangement. Elserv remote monitoring of these lifts is also included, allowing the lifts to be accessed remotely, to ensure highly efficient ongoing maintenance.

Elserv have also completed bespoke partial modernisation of the associated car park lifts, adding bi-directional safety gear and new control systems to existing duplex Schindler lifts.
